Window Repair INTENSIVE – Paint Removal

Cost: $150 per person
REGISTRATION IS LIMITED TO 5 PEOPLE
This is a chance to really understand how to remove paint from a window sash. Attendees will learn about steam stripping, hand scraping, and various other methods of safely getting paint off wood. Class space is limited so each attendee gets individualized attention. Attendees are encouraged to bring a window sash from their own home and any tools they may have been working with for paint removal. A respirator is encouraged but not required.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to bring anything?
You are welcome to bring your own window sash. In addition, you may want to bring safety glasses, an apron, work gloves, etc. We can provide them for you, but if you’d like to use your own please do.
What is the glazing kit, and do I need to buy one?
We provide all of the materials you need to learn basic window repair. However, we know that some attendees have plans to reglaze their own windows after the workshop. For this reason, we’re offering a small glazing kit to get you started.
The glazing kit includes:
1 Quart of Sarco Type “M” Glazing Putty
1 Cup of Whiting
1 Putty Knife
Where should I park?
There is plentiful free parking in the Water Street Lot (24 Water Street, Amesbury). The lower level of the parking lot connects to the side of the Window Woman Shop. (See map)
